Today we are delighted to introduce two – more or less – new members of staff who will be providing valuable support to our Nepata Group going forward. Firstly, Steffi is returning from maternity leave, and we are also delighted to welcome Martina as a new member of our team. A very warm welcome (back)!

Steffi:

What’s your name and what do you do?

“My name is Steffi Binder and I’m now working in the internal sales team for the YOW! online shop.”

You were on maternity leave – for how long?

“Almost exactly two years.”

How long have you been working here in total?

“Just under 13 years in total.”

So you’ve been here quite a long time – what makes the Nepata Group special to you?

“The Nepata Group is a very attractive company because it has such a broad remit. From mechanical engineering right through to the YOW! online shop, which sells consumables for a wide range of creative technologies. I find the combination of technology and creativity absolutely fascinating. It’s not a dry subject, and you can also make good use of the technologies for personal projects. On top of that, I like the working atmosphere, which is quite family-like. It makes working life very pleasant and all the more enjoyable.”

How do you structure your working day?

“I’ve returned to work part-time after two years’ parental leave. For now, I’ll be supporting the internal sales team with their day-to-day operations. Over the coming weeks and months, it will become clear which specific projects I can take on again. I’ll just take it as it comes for now.”

Do you work better in the mornings or in the evenings?

“Definitely in the evenings. I’m a proper night owl. I can still work productively at one in the morning, which sometimes surprises even me, because as a new mum, the lack of sleep certainly takes its toll. But I actually work better at night. As I’m not really a morning person, I prefer to get up a bit later and stay up longer instead.”

How do you deal with stress at work?

“I’m the sort of person who can work very well under stress and pressure and actually feels even more creative. If, for example, there’s a deadline for a project looming but there are still several things to do, I just push through it and usually something good comes out of it.”

Martina:

What’s your name and what do you do for a living?

“I’m Martina Schmitt and I work in internal sales; I’ll mainly be responsible for the YOW! online shop.”

What’s your impression of the company so far?

“Very friendly! Right from the job interview, it made me want to work here. It felt very much like a family, and I found the role and the products really interesting.”

Are you more of a ‘learning by doing’ sort of person, or do you prefer the theory?

“Definitely ‘learning by doing’. That’s how I retain the most information – by working regularly with the programmes and products.”

What helps you unwind outside of work?

“Family and friends. I’ve recently taken up tennis, which I really enjoy.”

How would your perfect working day start?

“Getting up in the morning, getting ready at my own pace, having a coffee, then driving to work at a leisurely pace and getting started.”

What’s important to you when it comes to working with your colleagues?

“That we have a good rapport with one another, that we can chat and share information, and that any problems are addressed openly.”
