What a crazy year it’s been. The coronavirus pandemic has turned so much upside down. But it has also shown us that the crisis only makes us stronger. By joining forces, we have overcome every challenge and made the best of the situation. We can look back on a successful 2020, which we owe in particular to our customers. Such loyalty during these difficult times is by no means a given. This has also given us the opportunity to strengthen our team even further. We are delighted that, even in times like these, we have the opportunity to grow our business. Here, we’d like to introduce you to the new faces of the Nepata Group!
Matthias, Corinna, Yasin, Steffi and Andrea are already supporting us with great enthusiasm across our various departments. Each of them will give you a brief insight into their day-to-day work here, as well as their career paths to date. With that in mind, once again, a warm welcome – we’re delighted to have you on board!
Yasin Yilmaz:
Who are you and what is your role here?
Well, I’m Yasin and I’ve been working here as a development engineer since 15 February 2021. Before that, I did an apprenticeship as a plant operator at Wolf in Mainburg. After my apprenticeship, I worked for three years… Then I completed further training to become a mechanical engineering technician, started my degree and am now nearing the end of my part-time degree in industrial engineering. So I’m still studying.
What was your first impression of Nepata?
I didn’t know the company, so I Googled it – it didn’t really tell me much – but once I was here – it all happened really quickly, didn’t it? I applied on a Monday, had a video call on Thursday, and by Friday I was here for a face-to-face interview. Wearing a mask, keeping our distance and all that, of course – and I thought to myself, ‘Wow, this looks cool and modern.’ And when we walked through the production area and the offices and saw how everything was laid out, I thought to myself, ‘This looks nice.’
So you had a video call? How did that go?
Fabian, my boss, Robert, my mentor, and I had a job interview via video call. We just discussed a bit of everything – my CV, what my role would involve, any questions I had, and what my expectations were.
Do you have any aspirations for your future here?
I think it’s hard to say after just a month, but I’d like to settle in even faster, become more independent and be given big projects as soon as possible.
Corinna Mathias:
Who are you and what’s your role here?
I’m Corinna Mathias and I’ve been here in operational procurement since mid-January; I’m starting off with the ‘regular’ suppliers and we’re planning to tackle Asia next.
What did you do before this?
I spent a long time working as a buyer in the automotive industry, at a company that manufactures car seats, where I was responsible for sourcing individual seat components. Then I became a mum and wasn’t able to return to that role on a part-time basis. So I looked for a part-time role in a different sector – specifically, in the healthcare sector. I went on to become a mum twice more and have now returned from parental leave to get started here.
What qualities do you value most in a colleague?
Openness and a hands-on approach.
What interests you about working in procurement?
Well, I’m a buyer through and through. What I really love – and what I’ve missed, and what I never would have imagined – is the international way of working. The job in the healthcare sector was very domestic, and communicating in English was a rarity. I think that only happened exactly once. But now everything’s actually taken on a completely different dynamic – there’s more life in it again.
Andrea Hammerl:
Who are you and what do you do for a living?
My name is Andrea Hammerl; I work in the accounts department and have been here since 1 March 2021.
What interests you about this job?
Actually, it’s working with numbers, because I’m really bad at remembering names. So for me, the numbers side is more my thing. I’m not that good at the German side of things either. My strengths are simply with numbers.
Did you go to university or do an apprenticeship?
No, I didn’t go to university. I went to secondary school back then and then did an apprenticeship as an office administrator.
Who do you most enjoy working with?
Everyone, of course ;) I don’thave a favourite colleagueyet.
Stefanie Hartleitner:
Who are you and what do you do?
My name is Steffi Hartleitner and my job is to assemble components. I’ve been working here since 1 March 2021.
What was your first impression of the company?
Mainly nice people.
What do you like best about working here?
The best thing for me is that I can always cycle here, because I don’t live far from the company.
Do you have any hopes for the future at Nepata?
I haven’t been here long enough to say anything about that. It’s difficult, yes.
What’s your day-to-day work like so far?
At the moment, I’m mainly busy assembling Secabo parts. But I’m still getting used to the day-to-day routine.
Simone Zopik:
Who are you and what do you do for a living?
My name is Simone Zopik and I have been a Sales Manager in the sales department at Nepata GmbH since 15 April 2021.
What do you like best about working here? Who do you most enjoy working with?
Unfortunately, I haven’t got to know all my colleagues yet, but those I’ve met so far are very nice and I enjoy working with them.
What qualities do you value most in a colleague?
In colleagues, I value helpfulness and honesty.
What interests you about this job?
On the one hand, building good relationships with customers and meeting their needs, and on the other hand, collaborating with internal departments such as Production.
